Actual Product
Panax ginseng · Ginsenosides · Actual BatchA standardised adaptogen active from the world's most researched root
Ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A. Mey.) is the perennial root of Asian, or “Korean”, ginseng — one of the most extensively studied botanicals in the world and a cornerstone adaptogen in traditional East-Asian and modern nutraceutical practice. The root is the ginsenoside-rich part of the plant, and concentrated, standardised extracts let formulators deliver those actives at a controlled, verifiable specification.
The characteristic constituents of ginseng are the ginsenosides — triterpene saponins split into the panaxadiol group (Rb1, Rc, Rd) and the panaxatriol group (Rg1, Re). SV Botanica standardises this extract to total ginsenosides of 10%, 20% and 30% by HPLC, so every batch is defined by its most meaningful markers rather than by ratio or colour alone.
The extract is finished as a free-flowing, water-soluble powder, yellow-brown to brown in colour. Water solubility makes it well suited to capsules and tablets as well as aqueous functional beverages, energy shots and liquid formulations. Slight colour variation between batches is normal for a herbal material and reflects natural variation in the raw root.
We supply supplement brands, beverage houses, sports-nutrition and cosmetic formulators against buyer specifications, with a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis on every shipment. New buyers can start with our ginseng extract buyer's guide for sourcing and specification benchmarks.
The signature ginsenosides that define Panax ginseng
The full family of triterpene saponins that defines ginseng. Standardised here to 10%, 20% or 30% by HPLC — the primary assay basis of every batch.
A major panaxatriol ginsenoside. Panax ginseng is characteristically richer in Rg1 than American ginseng, a key point of species identity.
The most abundant panaxadiol ginsenoside and one of the principal HPLC markers used to profile and authenticate the extract.
A prominent panaxatriol ginsenoside that features strongly in the reference HPLC fingerprint alongside Rg1 and Rb1.
The two structural classes of ginsenosides. Their relative pattern is characteristic of the species and underpins authenticity testing.
The ginsenoside profile forms the identity and assay basis of every batch — verified against a reference HPLC fingerprint before release.
Why formulators specify a standardised ginseng extract — the functional role of the markers
Ginseng is the archetypal adaptogen. A defined ginsenoside percentage lets formulators build energy, vitality and wellness products on a consistent, verifiable active load.
Standardisation to total ginsenosides by HPLC, verified against a reference profile, gives a defensible identity and assay for a root that is frequently substituted or diluted.
Full water solubility allows clean incorporation into capsules, tablets, aqueous beverages, effervescents and liquid nutraceutical bases without specialised solubilisers.
Ginsenosides are widely studied for antioxidant activity, supporting the extract's use in vitality, immune-support and “healthy-ageing” positioning.
Ginseng is one of the most recognised ingredients in energy and performance formulations, giving brands a familiar, label-friendly hero active.
A free-flowing powder passing ≥95% through #80 mesh with controlled bulk density disperses and blends predictably across batches.
These are functional and physico-chemical properties of the actives; SV Botanica does not make medical or therapeutic claims for this ingredient. For the analytical detail behind the markers, see ginsenosides & how ginseng extract is standardised by HPLC.
The core specifications supplied against document SVB/QC/PS/PG/001
| Grade | Standardisation | Form | Best For | Solubility |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ginsenosides 10% Value | Total ginsenosides NLT 10% (HPLC) | Yellow-brown to brown powder, ≥95% through #80 mesh | Supplements, functional beverages, teas & blends | Water-soluble |
| Ginsenosides 20% Standard | Total ginsenosides NLT 20% (HPLC) | Free-flowing powder, ≥95% through #80 mesh | Capsules, tablets, sports nutrition, functional foods | Water-soluble |
| Ginsenosides 30% Premium | Total ginsenosides NLT 30% (HPLC) | Free-flowing powder, ≥95% through #80 mesh | High-potency capsules & concentrated botanical actives | Water-soluble |
Standardisation is to total ginsenosides by HPLC, with the identity confirmed against a reference HPLC ginsenoside profile across the major markers (Rg1, Rb1, Re and related saponins). Intermediate concentrations, custom mesh and packaging can be quoted against buyer specification and order volume. Every batch is released against a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis.
Full product specification per SVB/QC/PS/PG/001 (Rev 00, effective 30 July 2026). Values are specification limits, not batch results; a batch-specific CoA is issued per shipment.

*The product is of herbal origin; slight colour variation may occur due to natural variation in the raw material. Total ginsenosides are standardised by HPLC and the batch identity is confirmed against a reference HPLC ginsenoside profile. A current Certificate of Analysis and MSDS are issued with every batch; declarations cover irradiation and GMO status.
From root to standardised extract — authenticated, tested, documented
Raw Material & Authentication: The extract is prepared from the root of Panax ginseng C.A. Mey. Because ginseng is frequently substituted with other Panax species, lower-grade root or undeclared fillers, species identity is central to release: every batch must match a reference HPLC ginsenoside profile before it is accepted.
Manufacturing & Testing: Ginseng Extract Powder is manufactured to specification SVB/QC/PS/PG/001 at certified manufacturing facilities in India. Each batch runs through a full QC battery — total ginsenoside assay by HPLC, loss on drying, bulk density and mesh, heavy metals by ICP-MS/ICP-OES, residual solvents (USP <467>), and a complete USP microbiological panel — before release.
Documentation: Every shipment is supplied against a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis with an MSDS, plus declarations covering sanitising treatment (non-irradiated) and GMO status (GMO-free). Country of Origin and export documentation are provided on request. Procurement teams can reference our ginseng extract supplier evaluation guide when qualifying vendors.
