Line One: Preparation Type

Preparation: juice powder / whole fruit powder / ratio extract / iridoid-standardised extract.

Not "noni extract". This line determines how every other figure should be read — and in the EU it is bound up with which novel food authorisation, if any, your product sits under.

Line Two: Iridoids

Deacetylasperulosidic acid (DAA) by HPLC, reported per batch, with the wider iridoid profile available.

These are the markers that carry information about noni. If the certificate quantifies only scopoletin, note that scopoletin is distributed across a great many plant species and is weak evidence of identity — useful as supporting information, not as the specification. Line Three: Carrier

For spray-dried juice powders, the carrier and its inclusion level. Without it an iridoid figure cannot be interpreted — a powder carrying 25% maltodextrin has 25% less of everything you are buying, and nothing else on the certificate reveals that.

Potassium, On Request

Not a routine line, and worth requesting when relevant: noni is potassium-rich, and for products aimed at consumers with renal considerations or used at high daily intakes, the safety assessment will want the figure. We report it on request.

Microbiology: Read This Section Properly

On many extracts the microbiological panel is a confirmation. On noni it is a control.

The raw material is a soft, sugar-rich tropical fruit that ferments readily — the traditional preparation is literally a fermentation. Handling delays, warm conditions and poor hygiene at collection all show up here.

Note the first row: fruit-derived powders conventionally carry a higher TPC limit than solvent-purified extracts. A 10,000 cfu/g limit on a juice powder is normal practice rather than a weak specification, and comparing it against a 1,000 cfu/g limit on a solvent extract is comparing two different kinds of material.
